Newbie here !

Two years ago, I decided to try my first harvest and Jerry was especially helpful in all aspects of the grow. The plants did well but I may have done something wrong since the "smoke" was pretty harsh.

The following year, I purchased a small greenhouse that allowed me to start the growing a little earlier in the season. ( It stays pretty chilly here till late Springtime on Long Island).

The plants did much better in the green house but I had to keep a close eye on the temperature in the thing. ( It also gets pretty hot here in the summer). The house does have a window that can open on the roof but it's not enough. Leaving the door open invites critters !  So, I just have to be on the lookout.

Going to try 3 strains this year. Did not know that there is a variety ! ( Thanks for the info Jerry)

Cannabis has been divided into two primary species or types: Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa. While both come from the same plant family, they differ in their appearance, growth cycles, chemical composition, and—most importantly—their effects on the human body and mind. Cannabis Indica plants are typically short, bushy, and have wide leaves. They tend to grow faster and produce more buds than their Sativa counterparts. Sativa plants, on the other hand, are taller with thin leaves and take longer to mature. But it’s not just the look of the plant that matters—it’s what’s inside. Indicas are often associated with relaxing, body-centered effects, commonly described as “sedating” or producing a “couch-lock” sensation. People often turn to Indicas to relieve pain, insomnia, or anxiety. Sativas are more known for uplifting, cerebral effects—think energy, creativity, and social stimulation. Users often choose Sativas to boost mood, enhance focus, or combat fatigue. However, this distinction isn’t as black-and-white as it seems. The effects of a specific cannabis strain depend on far more than whether it’s labeled Indica or Sativa.

I'm going to try 3 plants this year with various effects.

That is a solid plan, and thanks for the awesome info! That is one reason so many like my free seed deal, it gives you a chance to try many different varieties, and effects. Plus you get to harvest throughout the season as the autos will finish long before the photo type of plants. You are the first to contribute to this my brand new forum, and I want to reward you. When you place your next order on JCS leave me a note, telling me you were the first to post, I will put a smile on your face!
