The September stretch is officially underway up at the farm, and these plants are gearing up to add another foot or two while their stalks wood up for the mountain wind and heavy seed weight.
One thing that caught my eye this week: I’ve got honey bees heavily working the male flowers collecting pollen. That usually only happens when a hive is massive and very close by.
It reminded me of something you see all over Instagram and YouTube—videos showing honey bees swarming all over female buds. Total BS. Female cannabis flowers don’t produce nectar. Those internet videos only happen because someone sprayed the colas with sugar water for clicks.
How are everyone’s outdoor plants handling the early September stretch? Anyone else noticing bee activity on their males, or battling early season winds?
